My Artistic Journey: Unveiling the Wild Feminine through self discovery & Oil Paintings

Welcome to the story behind my brushes. For years, people have asked me what inspires the vibrant colors, sacred feminine archetypes, and raw wilderness in my work. The truth is, my paintings are not just visual creations—they are living milestones of a deeply personal journey toward reclamation, intuition, and spiritual alignment.
In this post, I invite you behind the easel to explore how my art evolved from quiet childhood sketches into a life dedicated to creating original oil paintings that honor the sacred feminine, wild nature, and the courage to begin again.
Roots in Normandy & The Magic of Monet
My story began in Normandy, where I grew up surrounded by meadows, forests, and endless countryside. Just a few miles from Claude Monet’s home, I spent my childhood sketching flowers, birds, and wildlife long before I ever imagined becoming a professional artist.
As a young girl, I often felt restricted and disconnected, growing up in an environment where freedom and personal expression—especially femininity and sensitivity—were limited. Nature became my refuge. In the meadows and forests,I found a sense of peace and possibility that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
Then, when I was eleven, a school trip took me to Claude Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny. Surrounded by art, poetry, light, and flowers, everything seemed to belong together. I came home knowing I loved art, even if I didn't yet know what that would mean for my life.

2. Into the Wild: Finding My Way Back to Painting
As I grew older, life became more complicated. After moving to the south of France at fourteen, navigating school struggles, and working for years as a graphic designer, the dream of becoming an artist stayed quiet inside me. I didn't lose it—I simply stopped believing it was possible.
Over the years, travel became my way back to myself. I was drawn to wild landscapes—Canada, the Rockies,Yellowstone, Vancouver Island—places where I could feel absolute freedom. Wolves, in particular, fascinated me. Their resilience, instinct, and deep connection to their environment resonated with something deep inside me. Seeing them wild in Yellowstone was profound; surrounded by a landscape where everything felt alive and instinctive, something shifted.

In 2017, after years away from fine art, I picked up a brush again and gave myself permission to paint without judgment. I began by copying Monet and Renoir, but through those strokes, I wasn't just learning technique—I was reconnecting with the little girl who had stood in Giverny decades before.
3. Returning to Monet's Garden, Returning to Myself
In 2020, I returned to Claude Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny. I was 37.
Standing in those same gardens as an adult woman felt deeply symbolic. I realized the dream of becoming an artist had never left me; I had simply spent years believing it was too late or meant for someone else.

At 38, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life: I chose to let go of fear and begin again.
I decided to stop waiting for permission and to finally give the little girl who had dreamed of becoming an artist a chance.I learned the power of being seen and believed in—from a California woman who once told me, "If I can paint, you can paint too"—and I realized that softness is not weakness, and being a wild woman means having the courage to be fully yourself.

4. Where the Journey Stands Today
Today, as a French contemporary artist based in the South of France, painting women, nature's poetry, and feminine energy is my life's work.
When an original oil painting leaves my studio for a new home, it carries a piece of this journey with it. My hope is that my work serves as a reminder to reconnect with what makes you feel alive—whether that means creating, traveling, or simply listening to the part of yourself you may have forgotten.
