Starting Over at 38 Changed My Life. Here's What I Wish Every Woman Knew.

My name's Naïma and I am a full time artist living in south west of France...
I spent twenty years believing I wasn't good enough to become the artist I dreamed of being as a child... until I finally trusted myself at 38.

Is It Ever Too Late to Change Your Life?
If you've ever wondered whether you've waited too long to follow your dream, you're not alone.
Maybe you've thought...
"I'm too old."
"I should have started years ago."
"Everyone else is so much further ahead."
"Perhaps this dream just isn't meant for me."
"I am not talented enough"
"I am never gonna succeed"
I believed every one of those thoughts.
At 38, I looked at artists who had been painting for decades and wondered who I was to begin now. For years, I convinced myself that I wasn't talented enough. That "real" artists were born with extraordinary gifts.
That my dream belonged to someone braver, more confident, more deserving than me.
The truth is, I wasn't afraid of failing.
I was afraid of believing in myself and discovering I wasn't enough.
That fear kept me stuck for far longer than my age ever did.

Why Starting Over at 38 Wasn't the Hardest Part
People often tell me how brave I was to become an artist at 38.
But starting wasn't actually the hardest part.
Believing I was allowed to start was.
For years, I waited for confidence.
I thought one day I would wake up feeling certain, fearless and completely ready.
That day never came.
Eventually, I realised something that changed my life.
Confidence doesn't come before action.
It grows because of action.
The moment I picked up a paintbrush wasn't the moment I became confident.
It was the moment I chose trust over fear.

Why Trusting Yourself Matters More Than Confidence
This is probably the biggest lesson my journey has taught me...
We spend so much of our lives waiting.
Waiting until we're good enough.
Successful enough.
Certain enough.
Confident enough.
But confidence isn't where transformation begins.
Trust is.
Trust is deciding to take one small step even when you can't see the whole path.
Trust is believing your intuition deserves to be heard.
Trust is choosing yourself after years of putting everyone else first.
When I stopped waiting for confidence and started trusting myself instead, everything changed... Not overnight. But one decision and one act of courage at a time.

How Nature Helped Me Trust Myself Again
Throughout my life, nature has always been my greatest teacher...
Whenever life felt overwhelming, I found myself returning to forests, mountains and wild places.
Watching wolves.
Listening to birds.
Walking beneath ancient trees.

Nature never asked me to prove my worth.
It reminded me that everything grows in its own season.
Wildflowers don't compare themselves.
Trees don't apologise for taking decades to become magnificent.
The moon doesn't rush through its phases.
Everything unfolds exactly when it's ready.
Perhaps we are meant to do the same.
This quiet wisdom now lives inside every painting I create.
The wild horse
They are all reminders to trust the rhythm of your own life.

What I Wish Every Woman Knew About Starting Over
If I could sit down with every woman who feels stuck, I would tell her this...
You haven't missed your chance.
You don't need permission.
You don't need to become fearless.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
And you certainly don't need to be younger.
The dream that's been quietly calling you for years hasn't disappeared.
It's simply been waiting for you to believe you're worthy of it.
The life you want isn't created through one giant leap.
It's created through hundreds of small moments when you choose yourself instead of fear.

It's Never Too Late to Become the Woman You Were Meant to Be
I'm 43 now. Five years ago, I finally gave myself permission to become the artist I had dreamed of being as a child. Not because I suddenly became more talented. Not because life became easier.
But because after twenty years of self-doubt, I finally trusted myself enough to begin.
Looking back, I don't wish I had started younger anymore. Every experience, every setback and every season of uncertainty shaped both the artist and the woman I've become.
Perhaps I wasn't late.
Perhaps I arrived exactly when I was ready.
If my story has taught me anything, it's this:
The question isn't whether it's too late to change your life.
The question is whether you're willing to trust yourself enough to take the first step.
That one decision changed everything for me.
Maybe it could change everything for you, too.

Paintings Inspired by Freedom, Trust & New Beginnings
Every original oil painting I create is inspired by the journey back to ourselves. By this force, this wild feminine energy that live within each woman
Each painting is a reflections of freedom, intuition, resilience,
self-love and the courage to begin again.

Whether it's a wild woman in her power, a wolf reminding us to trust our instincts, or an open landscape inviting us to breathe freely, each painting carries the same message that transformed my own life:
It's never too late to become who you were always meant to be.
If you're rebuilding your life, healing, or simply learning to trust yourself again, I hope these paintings become more than beautiful pieces for your home.
I hope they become quiet daily reminders of the woman you're becoming.
with love,
