There are moments in life when the body asks for stillness… even while something inside continues to burn.
Between softness and fire.
This painting was born from that space.
As I painted this woman resting with a white wolf, I found myself thinking about what it means to truly feel safe within yourself. To remember that there is a part of you that is instinctive, wild and loyal — a part that has been protecting you all along.
The wolf became a symbol of that inner strength.
Not the kind of strength that asks us to push harder or hold everything together, but the kind we can finally rest against.
While painting, I was daydreaming, and the image slowly unfolded into something deeper: a soft white-pink moth, lotus flowers opening, and a flowing blue dress moving like water — like emotion, like breath, like life itself.
The lotus flowers speak of a soft awakening. A gentle unfolding. The kind that happens when we stop forcing and begin listening.
Take It Slow is about remembering the strength that already lives within you.
About learning that you can be soft and still be strong.
Sensitive and still protected.
Wild and still at peace.
It is an invitation to slow down enough to hear yourself again. To let go of what no longer nourishes you. To trust your instincts. To return to your truest nature — not through force, but through gentleness.
A reminder that you don’t always have to hold yourself up.
Sometimes, you can simply rest against the strength that is already there.
A love letter to the self.
To softness.
To inner strength.
To feeling safe within.
To awakening gently, in your own time.
