Exploring the Beauty of Provence: Painting the French Riviera, Sunflowers, and Lavender Fields

What is more beautiful and inspiring than the beauty of South of France, Provence and the French Riviera? I have been visiting almost every year this beautiful region and each time I feel inspired to paint, following the steps of masters Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Van Gogh to name a few, painting the scenery, the flowers and olive trees...everything that sparks light to me.

When I started oil painting, one of my very first painting was this ethereal abstract landscape of the sunflowers fields I always see when I drive to the south from Bordeaux to Nice.

I let my mind wander and my brush dance on the canvas while thinking of these beautiful flowers that to me reminds me of the sun melting with the Mediterranean sea...

The Sun melted with the Sea I

Two years later, after going back and forth to Provence, I found myself diving into this scenery again and daydreaming of painting them...

I still have this painting in my living room and while looking at, I felt such a sense of freedom and joy.

Last May, while being in Provence again, it was a confirmation for me to start painting these flowers again. I feel so much peace and well being when I walk in these villages in Provence and when I see these flowers fields, when I look at the sea from afar... I was determined that when going back home I would paint everything I experienced.

These paintings reflecting light, love and hope invite you with me in these places...and if you have been there too, to make you travel back in your mind to these beautiful memories while looking at these paintings.

In this Serie, I wish you to be transported in Provence and FEEL the flowers, BREATHE the sea like a soft caressing touch...inviting you to daydream and feel calm.

I hope today you find yourself enjoying the beauty of nature, of this life and that inspires you to do more of what makes you happy!
