September, the Sacred Feminine & the Quiet Wisdom of Mabon
September is and always be one of my favorite moment in the year because the season of slowing down is coming...
The light begins to soften. The evenings arrive a little earlier. The warmth of summer is still here, but there is a subtle feeling that something is changing...
Nature begins its gentle transition.
And somehow, I feel it inside me too.
September has always felt like a threshold to me ... a space between what was and what is coming. A time to pause, to look back at what the past few months have brought, and to ask myself what I want to carry with me into the next season.
The past few days, while I was painting my latest feminine artwork, I was thinking a lot about the Sacred Feminine... Mabon, the autumn equinox and how it always inspires me deeply.
The wisdom of Mabon
Mabon is a celebration connected to the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are almost equal.
It is a moment of balance.
A time to honour the harvest.. not only the fruits and vegetables that nature has given us, but also the things we have grown within ourselves.
Our experiences.
Our lessons.
The things we have created.
The things we have survived.
The things we have finally understood...
I love this idea of looking at our own lives as a kind of harvest.
What has grown in you this year?
What are you proud of?
What have you learned?
It doesn't have to be a long list...
And perhaps just as importantly: what are you ready to let go of?
Because autumn is not only about gathering.
It is also about releasing.
The Sacred Feminine and how we reconnect with our self, our body, our heart...
For me, the Sacred Feminine is about reconnecting with the deeper parts of ourselves.
Our intuition.
Our softness.
Our creativity.
Our ability to listen.
Our connection to nature.
Our cycles of growth, rest, death and renewal.
🌸
We live in a world that often asks us to keep going.
To be productive.
To achieve.
To move faster.
To constantly become something more.
But nature doesn’t work that way.
The flowers don’t try to bloom all year.
The earth knows when it is time to grow, and when it is time to rest.
And I feel that the Sacred Feminine invites us to remember this rhythm within ourselves.
That we don’t have to be blooming all the time.
That resting is not failing.
And softness is not weakness.
That there are seasons in our lives when we are growing outward, and others when the most important growth is happening quietly, beneath the surface.
Coming back to yourself
This is also the energy I feel behind my painting The Soul’s Journey.
I created her as a reflection of that inner journey ...the journey of finding your way back to yourself that's why I want to share it with you in this article today.
Water flows around her, a wild rose opens, and two moths emerge from the darkness.

The moths have always felt meaningful to me because they are creatures of the night, yet they instinctively move towards the light.
I think we are sometimes like that too.
We can lose our way.
We can go through dark seasons.
We can forget who we are underneath everything that life asks of us.
And yet there is always something inside us that knows where the light is.
Sometimes we just need to become quiet enough to hear it again.
A September invitation
Most of the time I hear that september is about starting ... maybe because it is connected to that time of the year after the holiday when we go back to work ....
But I feel it can be different. We can change the way we see it...
Maybe it can simply be about returning.
Returning to yourself.
Returning to the things that make you feel alive.
Returning to your intuition.
Returning to nature.
Returning to the parts of yourself you may have forgotten while trying to be everything for everyone else.
As the days slowly become shorter and the earth begins to turn inward, perhaps we can allow ourselves to do the same.
To gather what this season has given us.
To give thanks for what has grown.
To release what no longer belongs to us.
And to trust that even when something is ending, something else is quietly beginning.
There is no perfect path. There is only the one that brings you closer to yourself. - Naïma Namaste
And perhaps that is one of the greatest gifts of autumn:
That little reminder that we are always allowed to change. We are allowed to let go. We are allowed to rest.
And we are always, always allowed to find our way back home to ourselves.
With love,
Naïma 🤍
stay wild!
