Where the Roses Bloom | Oil Painting | Sacred Feminine Art
"I found the muse within myself and loved her fiercely."
This painting is inspired by John William Waterhouse’s *Boreas*. His portrayal of femininity has always moved me, and for a long time, I dreamed of reinterpreting one of his works in my own way, infused with my own energy.
Drawn to roses as a symbol of the sacred feminine and enchanted by wildflowers, I chose to envelop this woman in blooms that are an extension of her being. She is blossoming, breathing flowers... soft yet strong, delicate yet resilient.
This painting is to me exclusive and unique in a way. I worked long hours on it it took me more than a month to finish it... I came back to it many times and used not only oil paint but mainly oil pastels.
