Breath of Life was born after a visit to the Louvre in Paris, where I found myself once again captivated by the timeless beauty of "Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss" (by Antonio Canova)
Standing before this extraordinary sculpture, I felt an irresistible desire to reinterpret its symbolism through my own artistic language.
In my vision, the scene unfolds within a wild garden where nature and spirit become one. At its heart blooms the magnificent white peony 'Moonstone', a flower I associate with abundance, prosperity, and the sacred feminine.
More than a botanical element, the peony became the soul of Psyche herself—delicate yet powerful, embodying transformation, grace, and inner awakening.
The kiss represents far more than a romantic gesture. To me, it is the sacred moment when consciousness returns, when the soul remembers its true essence and comes home to itself. It is the breath that awakens us, the quiet instant where love becomes life.
This is why I chose the title Breath of Life.
Like all symbolic art, this painting is open to interpretation. Each collector may discover a different meaning within it, shaped by their own experiences, memories, and inner journey. My hope is that it becomes a deeply personal companion, continuing to reveal new layers over time.
