When we hear the name Venus, we often think of beauty, love, and romance.
Yet the Venus archetype is far more than a symbol of outer beauty... she is the whisper of the feminine soul, reminding us of the sacredness of pleasure, softness, and the art of living beautifully.
Venus invites us to return to the essence of who we are as women: beings of feeling, intuition, and creation.
She is not only the goddess of love, but the muse of desire, sensuality, and creativity.
Through her, we remember that beauty is not something we put on from the outside... it radiates when we live in alignment with our truth.
Venus as the Keeper of Beauty
To embody Venus is to see life as a canvas.
It is in the way we arrange fresh flowers on a table, the way we savor a piece of fruit, the way we adorn ourselves with colors that reflect our inner world.
Venus teaches us that beauty heals... it softens the heart, nourishes the spirit, and reminds us of the poetry hidden in the everyday.
This is the energy I often try to capture in my garden-inspired paintings. In works like "Soft Release", the softness of a floral passageway is more than scenery, it is an invitation into the sanctuary of Venus, a reminder that beauty is medicine for the soul.
Venus as the Lover
The Venus archetype awakens our capacity for love...not only romantic love, but love as a state of being.
She teaches us to cherish our bodies, to honor our desires.
When I paint women, I imagine them as embodiments of Venus herself.
In She is Gently Unfolding her Wings, for instance, a woman portrait that reflects self love and returning to our heart, body and soul. She remembers to celebrate and honor herself.
Venus as the Creator
Venus is also the artist, the dreamer, the muse. She inspires paintings, poems, nuturing your garden, and gestures of devotion to the beauty of the world which is what I intend to do everyday in my art.
To channel Venus is to allow our creativity to flow without judgment, to create simply because it brings us alive.
For me, painting is one of the ways I return to Venus.
In Daughter of the Moon, where the Grey Wolf connect with the Woman...surrounded by the moon cycle: the wild feminine meets the soft.
Both sides of Venus alive in one vision.
Each canvas becomes a reminder that art is not only expression, but also devotion: a way of keeping beauty alive in the world.
Returning to Venus Within
Venus reminds us to slow down, to breathe, to notice the way sunlight caresses a wall, or the way a rose unfolds.
The Venus archetype lives within every woman.
To embody her is to soften, to open, and to remember that beauty, love, and creativity are not luxuries! They are soul-essentials.
This is why I paint: to hold up a mirror for women to see the Venus within themselves.
Whether through a path lined with flowers, a woman rising with an eagle, or a wolf glowing under the moon, my work carries whispers of her presence.
So today, perhaps you might ask yourself: Where is Venus whispering in my life? How can I bring more softness, more beauty, more love into the way I move through the world?
Because when we awaken Venus, we do not just find beauty, we become it.
