This original oil painting features a coyote running freely through a field of wildflowers, a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the healing power of nature.
The title was inspired by "Go Where You Breathe Free" a quote from my favorite poet Butterflies Rising. Her words speak to my heart and of choosing the places, people, and paths that allow your soul to exhale...to leave behind what hurt you and move toward what makes you feel truly alive and free...that message deeply resonates with me and perfectly reflects the spirit of this painting.
Nature has always been my sanctuary, the place where I could escape the difficulties of life and simply be myself. Whenever I needed peace or clarity, I found it among trees, mountains, and wild places.
Coyotes hold a special place in my heart. I was lucky enough to encounter them several times while exploring Joshua Tree National Park in 2014 and again in 2018. I was captivated by their playful spirit, intelligence, and quiet confidence. To me, they symbolize freedom, adaptability, and a childlike curiosity that reminds us to embrace life with courage and wonder.
This painting is a gentle reminder to follow the places that make you feel free and at home within yourself. Even during life's most difficult moments, the natural world is always there, offering guidance, comfort, and a way back to what truly matters.
